The 10 Best FANCY Restaurants in Punta Cana: A Culinary Journey

Punta Cana is not just about sun, sand, and luxury resorts — it’s also a hotspot for food lovers. I would consider myself one of them and as much as I like cooking, I do treat myself with a nice dinner outside every once in a while. Whether you’re in the mood for local specialties or international flavors, there’s something here to satisfy every craving. Here are my personal top 10 favorite spots for a truly unforgettable meal. Buen provecho!

1. Jellyfish Beach Restaurant

Jellyfish Beach Restaurant is synonymous with beachfront elegance. Known for its fresh seafood and stunning ocean views, it’s the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a laid-back lunch looking at the ocean. Signature dishes include the seafood platter and grilled lobster, all made with the freshest local ingredients. My personal favorite is the octopus carpaccio followed by the signature soup.

2. SBG Punta Cana Village

What was once known as „Bachata Rosa“ has evolved into one of Punta Cana’s most known fine dining destinations. SBG offers a sophisticated fusion of international and Mediterranean cuisine, with standout dishes like the perfectly cooked ribeye steak and the creamy risotto. For sushi enthusiasts, the menu also includes a variety of sushi options, while their sister restaurant, Shibuya, specializes exclusively in Japanese cuisine, delivering an authentic taste of Japan. I highly recommend the cheese wheel spaghetti, a decadent dish where hot pasta is tossed in a wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano, infusing it with rich, creamy flavors.

Location: Blue Mall, Punta Cana Village

Specialty: Mediterranean-inspired cuisine

3. Citrus Fusion Cuisine

A favorite among both locals and tourists, Citrus is strategically located and offers a delicious fusion of Dominican, Asian, and American flavors. Their sushi rolls and Peruvian ceviches are standout dishes, and the lively yet casual atmosphere makes it a great spot for families or groups. With live music on the weekends, and several bars nearby for drinks afterwards, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy a night out. Personally, I really enjoy the gyozas and the vegan ceviche

4. Noah Restaurant & Lounge

Noah stands out for its contemporary decor and a menu that blends international flavors with Caribbean roots. The sushi, pasta, and appetizers like coconut shrimp are fan favorites. It’s an ideal choice for those seeking an upscale yet approachable dining experience in Downtown surrounded by other restaurants and bars. I love their Poke bowls and their creative cocktail creations.

5. Trebol Restaurant

Trebol offers a sophisticated take on traditional Dominican cuisine, with dishes like mofongo, churrasco, and fresh seafood presented with elegant flair. The cozy yet upscale ambiance makes it a hidden gem for those looking to savor authentic local flavors. Several dishes are prepared live at the table, such as their classic Caesar Salad. The service is always impeccable, ensuring a truly high-class experience. One of my favorite touches is the clover they do on your coffee, a nod to the restaurant’s name, El Trébol.

Location: Plaza Coral Village, Los Corales, Bavaro

Specialty: Modern Dominican cuisine

6. La Bruja Chupadora BBQ & Pub

La Bruja (the witch) is a lively spot with a focus on Dominican street food flavors. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, this rustic eatery serves dishes like grilled meats, fried plantains, and flavorful chicharrón. Pair your meal with an ice-cold Presidente beer for the full Dominican experience or one of their signature cocktails. For all germans missing the food from home I recommend the Milanesa – kind of a Schnitzel served with pesto pasta and parmesan.

Specialty: Authentic Dominican dishes

7. The View Punta Cana

As the name suggests, The View offers breathtaking panoramas of Bavaros coastline Los Corales. The menu features a mix of seafood and international cuisine, with highlights including paella and grilled shrimp. Its location makes it ideal for a sunset dinner with tropical cocktails. I really like the grilled fish with classic Dominican sides such as fried plantains.

8. Unagi Japanese cuisine

Unagi is a must-visit for sushi and Japanese cuisine lovers. This modern spot in the Punta Cana Village offers a wide selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, and Asian-inspired dishes. My favorites include the edamame and spicy tuna roll, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s the perfect place to relax and refuel after a shopping trip at Blue Mall.
